When it comes to celebrities, there’s no one quite as elegant as Amal Clooney. Passionate, yet graceful, this stunning woman has made headlines for her incredible work as a human rights lawyer. Thus, when I heard that Charlotte Tilbury had created a lipstick after her, I just had to get my hands on it. Here is my review on the brand’s Hot Lips 2 in ‘Amazing Amal’.
The lipstick comes packaged in a chic, black and gold tube with a starburst design and an engraved logo. The tube can be refilled once the formula runs out, which makes it quite unique and eco-friendly. The square-shaped, angled bullet is one that is found in many of the brand’s lipsticks and helps apply the colour precisely. It also features an imprint of a pair of lips, which adds to the luxurious vibe. The exact shade name is mentioned on a sticker beneath the tube.

In terms of the formula, this lipstick is identical to that of the Matte Revolution range. The creamy consistency allowed the colour to glide on smoothly and uniformly, without tugging at my lips. ‘Amazing Amal’ is a vibrant, medium-toned berry hue with a semi-matte finish. I require 2 coats to achieve full pigmentation. The shade also looks beautiful as a stain so you can dab on a little bit to get a soft flush of colour.

I’ve worn this lipstick at a few weddings recently and have received quite a few compliments. The colour stays put for about 5 hours, without bleeding or smudging. However, the formula is not transfer-proof so you will require a touch-up after eating a meal. On the plus side, this lipstick is very comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out my lips as many matte lipsticks do. The formula also did not emphasize the fine lines on my lips or catch on to any flaky patches.
Weightless, velvety and pigmented, this lipstick is totally worthy of the woman it is named after. What more could one really ask for?
