Review: Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner
Remember when you bawled your eyes out on seeing the Titanic, only to turn and see the person near you weeping at the sight of your raccoon eyes? Yeah, good times. Luckily, the Beauty Gods have decided to endow Benefit’s They’re Real Push-Up Liners upon us, thus making tear-smudged liner a thing of the past.
This innovative gel liner comes in a twistable pen format, just like the YSL Touché Eclat. It features a soft Accuflex Tip to help with application. The packaging instructed us to twist the base of the pen once to emit the product, but we had to go through three twists (and a mini panic attack) before we saw the gel.
As far as the application goes, the gel glides on smoothly and evenly. A single stroke contains all the pigment you need. However, since it is a gel formula, the liner dries quickly (think 30 seconds). Avoid going over the line again as it will cause the formula to flake.
The soft, angled tip is ideal for a crisp cat eye. Drag it along your lash line, while manually increasing the pressure, to get a thick, bold wing. The Accuflex tip truly hugs the lashes, and prevents those pesky gaps of flesh.
In terms of longevity, this liner wins hands down! The waterproof formula stayed on all day, without budging or streaking, even though we washed our faces several times. However, oily-lidded ladies may need to use a primer before application, as it is not oil-proof.
If you love the ease of an eye pencil, the intensity of a gel liner and the crispness of a liquid liner, then Benefit’s amazing liner is perfect for you! Don’t forget to wipe it clean after each use and keep it capped tightly. The little orange plug that comes along the pen helps to keep it from drying.
Now go on and buy the pen, while we watch Jack save Rose for the millionth time!
