Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 50+
Summer, winter, rains – whatever the season may be, there is only one product that remains constant in our makeup bags… sunblock! Recommended by dermatologists, wise aunts and beauty gurus all over the world, sunblocks have now become a daily part of our routine. Unfortunately, we’ve had a few terrible experiences (acne, allergies and the dreaded white streak), which is why we composed a list of qualities that our dream cream should have – a great Sun Protection Factor (obviously!), water resistant abilities, non-pore clogging ingredients and an invisible appearance. Keeping all this in mind, we went out and bought Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock (SPF 50+).
The sunblock comes in a handy, squeezable tube that is perfect to travel with. We were impressed that the product was a broad spectrum sunblock, which means that it protects from both UVA and UVB rays, both of which are harmful to skin.

When we first squeezed out the product, we were alarmed to see the thick, white consistency. However after gently rubbing it on to our face, the sunblock turned sheer as promised. If you hate the weighty feel that most sunblocks have, Neutrogena’s product is ideal for you. On application, it gives a clean and light feeling, with a semi-matte finish. The product has a very faint fragrance that is barely noticeable.
We tested it out on our daily swim sessions, and we were thrilled with the results. The sunblock proved to be water-resistant and stayed on our skin throughout our laps. Unlike a ton of other sunblocks, this one did not make us break out. We especially loved the fact that the sunblock absorbed quickly and did not leave streaks on our face when we hit the pool. However, since the formula isn’t hydrating, it may not be the best product for those with dry skin.
Oil-free, lightweight and super sheer, this sunblock definitely fulfilled all our criteria! Our combination skin stayed dewy (not greasy!) and protected for 3 hours, without any re-application. We even applied it beneath our makeup, and found it to be equally effective. All in all, we highly recommend that you pop a tube or two into your beach bag!
