Review: NARS Illuminating Multiple In ‘Hot Sand’

NARS Illuminating Multiple In ‘Hot Sand’

Although it’s a part of my job to try out new trends, I often stick to my signature red lip and winged eye combination when I’m in a rush. Whilst my lipstick game has never been better (all thanks to this baby), I could use a little luminosity on my complexion. Rather than relying on a skincare routine, I opted for a quick fix – an illuminating product to deliver the glow of my dreams. Here is my review of NARS’ Illuminating Multiple in ‘Hot Sand’.

The product comes in a matte black tube with the brand’s name printed in white on the cap. The exact shade name can be found at the bottom of the tube. Due to the retractable nature of the stick, no sharpening is required. Rather than the standard domed tip, the bullet is shaped in a circle with a flat top. This unique shape allows the product to move easily across the planes of your face.

As instructed, I used this product across my face, eyelids and lips. Whilst the stick felt creamy on application, I found that the product crumbled after a few swipes. On the plus side, the product blended seamlessly and layered well without caking. ‘Hot Sand’ is a peachy gold hue with a subtle, pearlescent finish. For a noticeable glow, I had to swipe on the colour at least three times.

To get a full idea of how the product held up, I tested it out on a Saturday full of chores and plans. Whilst my cheekbones and forehead stayed dewy for 5 hours, the product disappeared from my lips and lids almost immediately. However, I must give it major points for its weightless and non-greasy texture.

Despite a few weaknesses, this handy stick has found itself a place in my daily beauty routine. I absolutely love how it delivers a natural, sheer glow that makes me look fresh and chic. Have you tried it out?
