As much as we love the red carpet, our goal in life is to emulate a celebrity’s airport style. The perfect blend of polished and carefree, these ladies manage to look down to earth, yet elegant. The secret? Makeup that makes you look like yourself, only a teensy bit better i.e. MFBB (My Face But Better). Since we love lipstick nearly more than anything in the world, we set out to find a shade that would give us a natural pop of colour. Here is our review of Lancôme’s Shine Lover Lipstick in ‘120 O My Rouge’.
The minimalistic design of this lipstick is a pleasant surprise. It comes in a shimmery white tube with a silver rose printed on top of the cap. We love the angled bullet as it allows for precise application. The shade number is mentioned on a sticker at the bottom of the tube.

On the formula front, the lipstick veers into lip balm territory. Due to the presence of Rose de Muscat Oil, the product glides on smoothly and evenly, without settling into the lines of our lips. Immediately on application, the formula melts into lips to give a natural finish. ‘120 O Rouge’ is a bright red that can liven up any complexion. One swipe provides sheer, translucent colour, while two coats are ideal for glossy coloured lips. For those with sensitive noses, the lipstick does have a strong floral scent.

Just like lip balms, this lipstick does not have a great lasting power. In the absence of food and drinks, it lasts up to 4 hours, but a dinner out will require several touch ups. Although we aren’t fans of the transferability, we love the pretty stain and sheen it leaves behind. A huge plus of this product, is the moisture and nourishment it imparts to our pouts.
Hydrating, weightless and sheer, this product is a gloss, lipstick and balm all rolled into one. Try it for a subtle amount of colour and tons of shine.
