‘Conceal don’t feel,
Don’t let them know’
Okay, clearly we aren’t over our Frozen obsession. While Elsa was singing about her magic powers, we apply these lyrics to our dark circles. However, finding the right concealer is only half the battle! Here a few insider tricks to keep those dastardly circles covered.
1. The Colour
Are you using the same concealer on your zits and circles? If so, shame on you! Blemishes require a green concealer, while under-eye circles need peach or orange-toned concealers.
2. The Prep
Prior to applying a concealer, you should prep the area with an under-eye primer or a moisturising eye cream. These products will keep your skin hydrated, and prevent the concealer from settling into your fine lines.
3. Foundation or Concealer?
We’ve solved the eternal chicken or egg conundrum! First, apply foundation all across your face, and then pat on concealer. Since the foundation will cover up most of your problems, you won’t need to use a lot of concealer.
4. The Method
We hate to break it to you, but dotting a concealer over your dark circles is doing nothing for you. Instead, draw a triangle - the base being under your eye, and the tip pointed down towards your cheek. Blend well with a concealer brush. Not only will your dark circles disappear, but you will also get a more youthful appearance!
5. The Finish
Don’t get up just yet! Those with oily skin should pat on a translucent powder to set the concealer. Top it all off with a highlighter for instantly brighter eyes.
