The Best Makeup Products Till Date [2017]
Every December, we do a roundup of the top products we’ve tested over the past 365 days. This year however, we decided to do something different. Since we have nearly 3 years worth of reviews under our belt, we’ve curated a list of the best products till date. Below, you can see whether a new release beats it predecessors, or whether a lipstick from 2015 still rules the roost! Without further ado, here’s presenting the #GGTopPicks.
Best Concealer: Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer
This find from 2015 is a true winner. Creamy, buildable and with a natural finish, this emollient concealer works wonders on normal to dry skin.
Best Highlighter: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter In ‘Rose Gold’
It was honestly a tough call between this highlighter and Fenty Beauty’s ‘Trippin’. BECCA’s formula however, took the top spot due to its silky texture and the subtle way in which it brings about luminosity.
Best Eye Liner: Kat Von D Ink Liner In ‘Trooper’
We’re still in love with the inky liner that we tried in 2015. Long lasting, glossy and smudge-proof, this baby is an office favourite.
Best Eye Shadow: Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow In ‘Smoldering Satin’
Stila’s liquid shadow is truly one of a kind. The glittery specks stay on for hours on end, without flaking off.
Best Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
No mascara has done for our lashes, what this one from 2016 has. Lift, curl and zero clumps – exactly what we asked for.
Best Brow Product: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
Clearly, 2016 was a good year for makeup. This cult brow pencil is a staple in most of our kits due to its fine tip and longevity.
Best Shimmery Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Lipstick In '212 Récit'
This balmy lipstick plumped up our pout and kept it hydrated – even through the coldest of winter days.
Best Matte Lipstick: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick In ‘The Queen’
A matte lipstick that won't dry our lips out? Although it sounds like a dream, this lipstick made our wishes come true! If this pinkish-red is too bright for you, try out ‘Love Liberty’.
Best Lip Gloss: Estée Lauder Pure Color Gloss In ‘Magnificent Mauve’
This non-sticky gloss has been garnering praises non-stop since we first applied it in 2015. The lacquered finish makes our pouts look fuller and can be layered easily over any lip colour.
Best Nail Polish: Essie Gel Couture In ‘Bubbles Only’
Essie’s highly acclaimed line lives up to its promise of gel-like wear, without the need of any UV lamps. After testing it out in 2016, we were sold by its chip-proof formula.
