Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof 12-Hour Concealer In 'Tan'
Blame it on stress or a recent round of allergies, but suddenly everyone on our team has been battling with some vicious dark circles. Whilst we’ve been passing around eye cream like candy, we’ve also been on the hunt for a great concealer. One of the products we’ve tried is Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof 12-Hour Concealer. Here is our review of the shade, ‘Tan’.
The concealer comes in a handy, retractable tube, which makes it easy to work with. The purple and gold packaging, along with the weighty feel of the product, give it a luxurious vibe. The exact shade name is mentioned on a sticker beneath the tube.
Since the concealer comes in a stick format, we expected it to be stiff and waxy. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered its creamy texture. The product glided smoothly on to our skin, without any tugging. Another plus point is the cooling sensation that it gives off on application. We recommend using your fingers to blend the product in, but do take care as the formula will transfer and slide around. ‘Tan’ is a beige shade that veers towards the warmer end.
Did the concealer last for 12 hours, as it claims? Sadly, it did not. Although the product tested well against water, it began creasing soon after application. As the day progressed, the formula settled into the fine lines under our eyes, which made us look tired. Those of you with oily skin will need to set the concealer with powder, as it makes you look greasy.
With its medium coverage and soft texture, this cruelty-free concealer is apt for those who have dry skin and minimum discolorations. For the rest of you, stay tuned cause we won’t stop till we find the perfect one!
