Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow In 'Bad to the Bronze'
Places to be, deadlines to meet, people to greet – October has been one busy month for us! Since we often rush from work to dinner, we’ve been trying to find products that are both work-appropriate and party friendly! One of those products, is Maybelline’s Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in ‘Bad to the Bronze’. Check out our review below!
The shadow comes in a sturdy, glass pot with a plastic cap. The black and glass combination give the product a luxurious and sophisticated feel. We love the fact that we could spot the exact shade through the glass before purchasing it – no more buyer’s remorse! The shade name is printed on a sticker on top of the cap.
We used an eye shadow brush to sweep on the shadow, but feel free to use your fingers too! The shadow went on evenly and effortlessly on to our lids. We love the creamy and velvety texture of the product. However, these shadows tend to dry quickly so you need to work fast to blend them out. One coat gave us opaque coverage, but two swipes really brought the colour into the spotlight. ‘Bad to the Bronze’ is a beautiful, metallic bronze with subtle micro-shimmers. The colour does lean towards the warmer side, but will still flatter most complexions.
On the longevity front, we had no complaints. The shadow lasted a full 12 hours, without budging or fading. We did see some minor creasing after 6 hours, but that can easily be fixed by layering a primer underneath. Those with dry lids may also need a primer as the shadow can make the lids to look a bit papery and parched. Although we didn’t test the product out for a full 24 hours (sleeping with makeup is a huge no-no for us!), we have full reason to believe that the shadow will live up to the claim.
Long lasting, shimmery and pigmented, this cream shadow is worth its weight in bronze! Wear it alone for a day look, and add a touch of red to your lips to make it party ready.
