Review: Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lip Colour In ‘Quand Vient L’Ete’ (#141)
Boys and their toys. Girls and their… lipsticks? Okay, that doesn’t rhyme, but isn’t it the truth?! Over the years, we’ve armed ourselves with a truckload of reds, berries and pinks, only to realise that we’ve been missing a key colour. Coral! Being the efficient beauty junkies that we are, we immediately remedied the situation by getting our hands on Guerlain’s Rouge Automatique Lip Colour in ‘Quand Vient L’Ete’ (#141).
The lip colour comes packaged in an ultra-luxurious, chic gold tube. The coolest part? The lipstick doesn’t have a cap! Instead, it comes with a unique slider that pops the lipstick up when you push it down. We tested it out over a hundred times (no exaggeration!) and were thrilled to see that the lipstick did not smear on the tube at all. The shade name and number is printed on the bottom of the case.
On the texture front, the lipstick had a balm-like feel to it. It glided on to our lips like butter, without any tugging. ‘Quand Vient L’Ete’ is a warm, coral-orange with subtle flecks of shimmer to it. Two swipes of the lipstick provided semi-opaque coverage, with tons of sheen.
The lip colour lasted for 4 hours on our lips and left a slight stain on our lips after that. The lipstick is not transfer-resistant, so make sure to carry it for touch-ups throughout dinner. We love the fact that it kept our lips hydrated, unlike the drying formulas that many products have today.
Creamy, moisturizing and shimmery, this beautiful shade really livens up our complexion. Understated enough to be worn to work, but equally suited for cocktail parties, this lipstick gets Glossip Girl’s kiss of approval!
