We argue about our favourite lipstick shades (mine’s a plummy berry). We debate over our top skincare picks (I swear by facial masks). However, all of us in the Glossip Girl office agree on one thing – cat eyes are a necessity. Since Kat Von D was the one who got us over our fear of liquid liners, I decided to try out a new shade from her range. Here is my review of the brand’s Ink Liner in ‘Baudelaire’.
Just like the others from this range, this liner too comes shaped like a slim marker. The cap fits securely to prevent the product from drying out. The colour of the pen corresponds to shade inside, whilst the tiny, silver stars give it a cute vibe. The winner here however, is the no-fray felt tip. Although it looks firm, it is actually flexible enough to experiment with.
In terms of formula, this liner definitely lives up to the hype. The colour went on smoothly and uniformly, without any tugging. ‘Baudelaire’ is beautiful, deep navy shade with a slight sheen. I found that one stroke is enough to provide a bold, pigmented line.
For the sake of true testing, I wore this liner every day during a particularly humid week. To my utmost delight, it neither smudged nor faded – even when I accidentally rubbed my eyes. The colour stayed rich and glossy, without cracking or flaking off. The only time it actually came off was when I used two makeup wipes. However, those of you with very oily lids may require a primer.
Long lasting, budge proof and saturated, this liner ticks all the boxes. If you need more convincing, consider this – three of my coworkers have already purchased this liner after seeing my flawless cat eye!
