Review: ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip In ‘Bad Habit’
As far as vices go, we would like to think that we don’t have to many (apart from our obsession with all things pizza, of course). So when we came across ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Bad Habit’, we were intrigued to see how addicted we would get to it. Here is our review.
The lipstick comes in a fuss-free, clear tube with a silver cap. The attached doe foot applicator is shorter than most products, but worked well to reach all corners of our lips. The exact shade name is mentioned on the bottom.
On the formula front, we found that the lipstick went on evenly and smoothly, without any tugging or patchiness. The consistency veered towards the thinner end, but it did not affect the coverage of the product. ‘Bad Habit’ is a medium pinkish-purple hue, which has cool undertones. Although it is marketed to be a matte lipstick, we found that the lipstick dried down to semi-matte finish. One coat is pigmented enough to cover your lips completely.
As far as longevity goes, this lipstick stayed put for about 6 hours. Whilst the formula did not flake or smudge, it did transfer upon eating a meal. This was especially noticeable on the inner part of our pouts. Rather than fading into a stain, the colour tended to disappear completely. On the plus side, the formula feels weightless and is extremely comfortable to wear.
With its opaque payoff and pretty finish, this shade has the ability to liven up any complexion. Although the product does have a couple of negatives, the price point makes it easy to ignore them. Honestly, if this lipstick constitutes a bad habit, then we’re sorry to say that we just can’t give it up!
