Review: Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour In ‘Curvy Contour’
On one hand, contouring is magical. I mean, how else can you carve out cheekbones without exercising? On the other hand however, this technique scares the life out of most of us. Clinique understands this problem, thus they’ve released the Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour in ‘Curvy Contour’. Here is our review.
Like the other products in the Chubby Stick range, this one too comes shaped like a mega-sized crayon. The retractable format does away with the need of sharpening, thus making it travel-friendly. Corresponding to the shade inside, the product is cased in a brown tube with a silver cap.
Upon application, we found the formula to be creamy and smooth. The domed bullet makes it easy to apply the colour on larger areas, such as the cheeks and jawline, but is a little hard to work with when it comes to contouring your nose. Despite the dark hue of the bullet, the colour actually goes on subtly and blends like a dream. However, it does have a slight greasy feel to it. ‘Curvy Contour’ is a matte, brown shade that will compliment those with fair to medium skin. We love the fact that you can easily layer on the product for further pigmentation.
For the sake of testing, we contoured the heck out of our faces on a normal workday. Our cheekbones looked chiselled for about 4 hours, with minimal fading. Whilst those of us with normal and dry skin loved the formula, our oily-skinned colleagues found that the product slipped off their faces too easily.
If you are a beginner to the world of contouring, this stick will be your new best friend! Unfortunately, there’s only one shade available currently, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more. Swipe it on for fool proof, fierce cheekbones!
