If we were to name one person we look up to in the makeup industry, Charlotte Tilbury would be our resounding answer! From working her way up as a makeup artist, this inspiring woman is now the founder of her own brand. Needless to say, we were stoked to get our hands on her legendary Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Love Liberty’.
The best makeup is one that makes you feel luxurious. Packed in a gorgeous rose gold tube, this lipstick definitely looks like the ultimate indulgence. The engraved cap and faceted body add to the look. The shade name is mentioned on a sticker at the bottom of the tube.

On twisting up the lipstick, we were slightly puzzled at the shape of the bullet. In stark contrast to traditional lipsticks, this product had a square, angled tip. After a little digging, we learnt that the geometric shape mimics the shape of a lip brush to allow for more precise application. Genius, right?
On the formula front, we honestly could not find a better lipstick. The product glided on to our lips like butter, and left our lips feeling velvety soft. It’s rare to find non-drying matte lipsticks, but Charlotte Tilbury has taken it a step further by making these lipsticks moisturizing! As if all these points weren’t enough, the lipstick is packed with 3D pigments that gave off the illusion of fuller, lit-from-within lips. ‘Love Liberty’ is an opaque, plum-berry shade that requires two coats for maximum impact.

The colour lasted on our lips for about four hours, with minor fading. However, it is not transfer-proof so you may need to reapply it after a meal. We love the fact that the product felt weightless and comfortable to wear throughout the day.
With nearly no negatives, the lipstick has proven to be one of the best lipsticks we’ve ever reviewed – and we don’t say that lightly! Hydrating, pigmented and unique, this product is beautiful, both inside and out. We can’t wait to try out all the other products from her line!
