If you follow me on Instagram (if not, come say hello!), you know that I’m constantly on the lookout for products that can nourish my dry and flaky skin. Since I was so impressed with The Inkey List’s Q10 serum, I decided to pick up a bottle of their Ceramide Night Treatment. Here is my review.
The cream comes in a plastic bottle with a pump. The black-and-white colour theme follows the brand’s minimal aesthetic. As with the Q10 serum, this one too comes in a 30 ml bottle, which is a smaller quantity than I would prefer. The directions for use are mentioned on the back of the bottle, while the ingredients are printed on the accompanying box.
Speaking of ingredients, this treatment contains a 3% blend of ceramides, which work to moisturise your skin and keep its natural barrier intact. The formula also contains 2.5% hyaluronic acid – an ingredient that helps your skin retain water. It also comprises of other moisturising ingredients such as jojoba oil, glycerin and squalane. There are no added fragrances.
In terms of texture, this formula was a hit and a miss. Since it is touted to be an overnight treatment, I expected it to be akin to a heavy cream. However, the consistency of this is more like a gel moisturiser. It also leaves behind a tacky film on your face, which disappears in a few minutes once the formula has had enough time to absorb. The brand recommends applying this as your last step, after using a hyaluronic acid serum. I require 3 pumps to cover my entire face.
I’ve been using this treatment for the past 2 months and have been quite surprised by it. Although the consistency is serum-like, it does a great job of keeping my skin soft and supple, without causing any zits or irritation. If my face is feeling extra dry or tight, I mix a pump of this in with a richer cream to amp up the benefits. It also works really well as a hand cream if you are stuck without one!
Lightweight and well priced, this treatment has become a staple in my routine. No matter what your skin type is, you can definitely see results with this formula!
