Review: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+)
If there’s one concern that plagues our entire office, it’s definitely acne. From whiteheads to cystic bumps, every member of our team is battling a war against zits. When La Roche-Posay sent over their Effaclar Duo (+), we thought that there’s no harm in trying out one more remedy. Here is our review.
The product comes in a squeezable tube with a screw-on plastic cap. The minimalistic white and blue colour scheme will definitely appeal to those who love a straightforward design. We like the fact that the tube comes equipped with a thin nozzle, as it prevents too much product from seeping out. The directions for use are printed on the back of the tube, whilst the list of ingredients is mentioned on the accompanying box.
The brand describes this product as a hybrid between a gel and a cream, which is an accurate assessment. Although the product looks white when squeezed out, it turns invisible on application. Unlike other acne products, this one feels light and non-greasy. However, it does have a faint medicinal scent to it, which disappears after a few minutes.
As instructed, we’ve been applying this product on our faces day and night, after cleansing. After testing it for over two weeks, we can safely say that this tube is a miracle worker! Apart from sizably diminishing our existing pimples (thanks salicylic acid!), this product has also lightened the appearance of our acne scars. The texture of our skin has improved markedly, with our pores looking clearer than ever. The best part? This baby also works as a mattifying primer.
Fast acting, effective and shine controlling, this product definitely ticks all the boxes. Use it twice daily to really see it work. We’ve already decided to purchase our next tube!
