Review: Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt

When it comes to travelling, I have my skincare routine down to a science. My hair, however, is a whole other story. After spending months in different countries and on several flights, my head finally revolted. From limp locks to an itchy, angry scalp, my hair showed all signs of trauma. On a quick work trip to Dubai, I made a stop at Sephora and picked up the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt. Here is my review.

The product comes in a clear plastic tub with a sturdy, screw-on cap. Whilst the packaging is certainly functional, I would’ve preferred it if there was a spatula attached to scoop out the product. The ingredients and directions for use are printed on the back.

On the application front, this scrub was definitely one of the nicest ones I’ve used. The thick, gritty texture felt heavenly on my scalp and really seemed to buff away any dry patches. Unlike several physical exfoliants, the granules were not coarse or pointed and thus did not feel too abrasive on my head. After massaging it in for a few minutes, I added water to it. To my surprise, the scrub lathered up quite well and rinsed off without leaving any residue behind. The only downside is that it is easy to get carried away and use too much product. I only needed about a tablespoon to cover my scalp completely.

I’ve been using this scrub once a week, for about 2 months now, and have absolutely fallen in love with it! Not only does it get rid of product build-up and dead skin, but also soothes my scalps and eases any itchiness. Whenever I use it, my hair feels lighter and fluffier – in a really good way! Whilst I love the clarifying effect that this formula has, it does dry out my strands a bit. I recommend using a heavy-duty conditioner after you apply this scrub.

Gentle, yet effective, this gritty scrub has earned a permanent spot in my travel kit. Although it’s on the expensive side, it lasts for quite a while as you only require a small amount every time. Plus, it feels like you are undergoing an invigorating head massage every time you use it!
